Winter Pet Food Drive for Residents in Need
January 2009
Because of the current financial crisis looming in our country, Animal Alliance of Cape May County (AACMC) is partnering with local businesses and organizations to host a pet food drive this winter. AACMC will partner with The Carriage House Grooming and West Cape May Volunteer Fire Co, Inc. for the Winter Pet Food Drive for residents in need.
Calls have flooded the Animal Alliance phone lines with requests for help for both food and supplies. Animal Alliance is requesting the public’s support for this project. Residents are invited to participate in this project by donating pet food in bags or cans for volunteers to distribute. If residents would like to purchase vouchers or gift cards to purchase food, that would also be appreciated.
The following are drop off locations:
Carriage House Grooming – 721 Seashore Road, Cold Spring
West Cape May Vol. Fire Co, Inc. – 723 Broadway, West Cape May
If you need, or know of anyone in need of pet food, please call Linda @ 609 628-4544.
KEEP THE DOGS WARM THIS WINTER
The Animal Alliance of Cape May County (AACMC), is offering residents with outdoor pets free straw to put in dog houses to keep their pets warmer in this very cold winter. Although dogs usually would much prefer to be inside with their human companions, sometimes that is not an option for families. AACMC would like to do everything possible to try to help in situations such as this. Straw provides more warmth in the winter and blankets can become moldy in the winter wet rains. Straw should be changed often for optimum warmth.
If anyone in Cape May County knows of a dog that is outside and in need of straw, please contact AACMC at
If anyone would like to volunteer to help deliver straw with this Keep the Dogs Warm this Winter project, please contact the same number.
If anyone suspects animal neglect or cruelty, please contact the NJ SPCA at 1-
To take advantage of this special offer while funds last, please call AACMC at
